Spring Fling, An Evening at Gatsby’s, presented by Syncrude Canada Ltd., Raises $200,000- Double the Amount Raised in 2013

Fort McMurray, Alberta- The Northern Lights Health Foundation brought the ‘20’s era Gatsby glitz and glam to Fort McMurray last Saturday at the Sawridge Inn and Conference Centre! Guests enjoyed entertainment by a jazz quintet and Generation Dance Group, a live auction and three-course chef inspired dinner. The funds raised at Spring Fling support efforts to enhance the quality of health and wellness services for all residents within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.

“We are thrilled to hear such a large amount has been raised this year through the Spring Fling fundraiser event. The funds raised at the Spring Fling will touch many different areas of healthcare,” says Dan Fouts, Chair of the Northern Lights Health Foundation Board of Directors. “These funds will help to impact the lives of patients, families, and health care providers, here in our region.”

Susanne Chaffey, Executive Director of the Northern Lights Health Foundation, appreciates the opportunity to bring donors and volunteers together with the local health care team every March. “Spring Fling gives us a chance to celebrate our family of supporters and inform them of how their support has impacted healthcare in our community,” says Chaffey.

The event was an overall roaring success with over 100 sponsors and 600 guests attending the sold-out event. Live auction packages brought in over $44,000 alone, with packages including a baby grand piano, Walnut Beach Resort trip for two and a backyard makeover!
