
2021 Festival of Trees - ONLINE!
The Health Foundation’s Festival of Trees starts Friday, November 19 and all of the events are online at GivetoNLHF.ca!
The 32nd annual Festival of Trees, presented by Syncrude, is Fort McMurray/Wood Buffalo community’s most beloved and important fundraising event of the year. The Festival of Trees is 100% online this year and running from Friday, November 19 – Sunday, November 21. The weekend will feature a series of fun, virtual events to raise funds for the Northern Lights Health Foundation and to engage audiences of all ages.
“We are excited with all the amazing programming we have for the community this year,” said Cindy Amerongen, executive director of the Health Foundation. “With recently mandated protocols to slow the spread of COVID-19, this 100% online weekend allows us to engage with new and returning sponsors and donors and keep the magic of Festival of Trees for the community. And, the proceeds from the weekend help support vital health, safety, and emergency response initiatives in our region all year long.”
On Friday, November 19 the Festival of Trees kicks off with the Tree of Hope, the Ugly Christmas Sweater Day and the opening of the Santa’s Elves Virtual Photobooth where you can snap memorable event photos all weekend long.The Home Sweet Home Online Festival Gala takes place on the evening of Saturday, November 20 followed by a family-friendly Story Time with Santa and Fun Day Daddy Daughter Sugar Plum Fairy Ball on Sunday, November 21. Guests are encouraged to dress in their Christmas spirit to enjoy these seasonal events.
All of the auctions will all be running online this year, including the Winter Wonderland Silent Auction, as well as the Tale of Trees Silent Auction, which features beautifully decorated trees from local creators and sponsors. You can participate in all the bidding action from the comfort of your home through the Festival’s website. The silent auction and tree auction close at midnight on Sunday, November 21.
The Festival Stocking Stuffer 50/50 Raffle and the Giant Toy Box Raffle ticket sales open on November 19 with the draws occurring November 21. The 50/50 raffle take-home purse will be up to $250,000 for the lucky winner, with the matched proceeds going to the North Lights Health Foundation!
