CIM Golf Tournament, presented by Foresite Geomatics raises $20,000 for local health care
The sold-out CIM Golf Tournament, presented by Foresite Geomatics took place on June 19th at the Fort McMurray Golf Club. The 144 guests enjoyed live music by Dan Tulk, food and drinks on the course, raffles, prizes and team photos – all in support of the Northern Lights Health Foundation.
“I never cease to be amazed by the excitement surrounding this tournament, even after five years involved as the presenting sponsor,” Says DJ Grant, CIM Board Director and Co-owner of Foresite Geomatics. “The generosity from attendees to support local health care makes me proud to call Fort McMurray home.”
Grant gave a moving speech to players on the patio following the raffle draws. After watching a close family member struggle with health issues in recent weeks, Grant witnessed the importance of loved ones receiving quality health care first-hand.
In the past nine years the CIM has raised $155,000 in funds for the Health Foundation, almost exclusively through the CIM Golf Tournament.
Cindy Amerongen, Executive Director of the Health Foundation was thrilled by the results, “The impact of this support is huge. The funds will support projects such as the new Omnicell Medication System recently installed at our hospital. We are so proud of the hard work of the organizing committee, returning presenting sponsor Foresite Geomatics, and the volunteers and golfers who make this event so special each year.”
The CIM Board of Directors echoes Amerongen’s sentiment and looks forward to hosting another banner tournament June 18, 2022. All raffle winners and photos of the event are posted on the Canadian Institute of Mining Oil Sands Branch Facebook page.
