CIM Golf Tournament, presented by Foresite Geomatics Ltd. raises a record $22,800 in support of local health care innovation

Fort McMurray, Alberta- The Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM), Oil Sands Chapter hosted its Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 17, at the Fort McMurray Golf Club (FMGC) in support of health care innovation in Wood Buffalo.  The sold-out tournament consisted of 148 golfers.  Guests enjoyed golfing FMGC's new Fox Tail nine, networking with industry professionals, steak dinner and prizes!  Yan Collin, Bellarmino Carvalho, Drew Reif and Dwayne Blanchard from Team Gescan won the tournament!

"This year, as a result of our dedicated members, the CIM Oil Sands Chapter was able to match the first $10,000 raised through the tournament! We’d like to thank our sponsors; Foresite Geomatics, Brandt Tractor, Titan International Group, B MAC Underground Services, Robby’s Towing & Tractor Trailer Services, Northstar Ford, City Wide Electric, Creative Escapes, Earls, Harvard Broadcasting and tournament participants for making this possible!", says Isaac Bussin, Board Chair of the CIM Oil Sands Chapter. "We’re thrilled to donate the funds raised to the Health Foundation; they do amazing work for local health care, whiceveryone can benefit from."

Funds raised for the Health Foundation will go towards urgently needed equipment for the Northern Lights Health Centre, as well as health care services and programs in Wood Buffalo.

"Third Part Fundraisers, such as the CIM Annual Golf Tournament, are great team building and client relationship tools and generate good will and funding for the Health Foundation each year.  Organizations, such as the CIM, are crucial to ensuring we can continue to fund health care innovation in our community for all residents to enjoy", says Cindy Amerongen, Executive Director of the Northern Lights Health Foundation.  "On behalf of the Heal Foundation Board and Staff, I'd like to thank everyone who made this gift possible.  I invite anyone interested in hosting a third party fundraiser in support of the Health Foundation to contact our office."
