Volunteer sign up for Festival of Trees open for registration
Fort McMurray, Alberta – The Northern Lights Health Foundation is excited to announce the opening of the online sign up for Festival of Trees volunteers! The Health Foundation’s Festival of Trees, sponsored by Syncrude Canada is a three day Festival which kicks off the holiday season in Wood Buffalo!
From Friday, Nov. 14 to Sunday, Nov. 16, the Health Foundation will host the 25th annual Festival of Trees at MacDonald Island Park. Various volunteer roles and shifts are available, such as entertainment assistants, ticket and raffle sales, Santa’s Workshop helpers, guest registration and much more!
“Last year’s Festival of Trees saw over 10,000 guests in attendance and required over 1000 volunteer hours to make it the success it was,” says Jessica Musycsyn, Events Manager for the Northern Lights Health Foundation. “We anticipate even more guests at this year’s Festival, which means an even greater need for volunteers.”
In 2013, the Wood Buffalo community members who participated in Festival of Trees events raised over $430,000.00 (net)! “Without the help of volunteers, Festival would not be possible”, says Musycsyn. “The money raised at Festival will aid in funding new medical equipment for our hospital, programs and services in our region.”
Join us at this year’s Festival of Trees by becoming a sponsor, volunteering, or attending one of our highly anticipated Festival events; Ladies Holiday Luncheon, Santa’s Workshop, Family Skating Party, the Ugly Christmas Sweater Party, Silver Anniversary Gala, and this year’s new event, Christmas Family Fun with Santa!
