Forever thankful

After a difficult delivery with her first two children, Gina Davis had her heart set on holding her third baby immediately after birth. She and her husband Jason made a birth plan and shared it with the Maternal Child team at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre.

“All of the things that were important to us and to our baby’s health, we were able to have,” says Gina. "The staff went above the requirements of their job to give us the moments we needed as new parents. I'll thank them forever for that."

With an average of 100 births a month, the Health Centre prides itself on providing individualized care and meeting the special needs of their patients. Collaboration, respect and compassion are at the core of everything they do to help parents have a positive and personal experience whenever possible.

“The staff went above the requirements of their job to give us the moments we needed as new parents. I’ll thank them forever for that.”

“I am so proud of the way our team comes together to deliver the best care for not only mom and baby, but for the entire family,” says Juanita Pilgrim, Manager of Maternal Child. “We sometimes have more people having babies than our unit was originally designed for, but we always try to make sure each parent feels special and respected .”
