Hammerstone Corporation makes a $50,000 donation to the Northern Lights Health Foundation’s Gratitude Campaign

Fort McMurray, Alberta – The Northern Lights Health Foundation is happy to announce that Hammerstone Corporation has made a $50,000 donation to the Gratitude Campaign.  This gift will be directed to the Gratitude Campaign’s area of greatest need.  On Wednesday June 28th, The Health Foundation, Alberta Health Services and Hammerstone Corporation celebrated the donation with a cheque presentation in the lobby of the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre.

The Gratitude Campaign is comprised of eight different projects that will enhance the way that health care is delivered in Wood Buffalo.  It all begins with innovation. Renovating and upgrading four operating rooms to accommodate Minimally Invasive Surgical technology will optimize the patient experience from surgery through recovery.  The MIS Suites will modernize and transform the way surgery is performed here at the Health Centre.

Also included in the Campaign is the Palliative Care Suites project.  Thanks to another sell-out of the 3rd Annual Jeremy Snook Memorial Raffle, this project is now fully funded. Once complete, the suites will reflect a home-like setting so that families can spend all the time they need with their loved ones in a comfortable, peaceful environment.

None of these projects would be possible without the generosity of donors such as Hammerstone Corporation.  They are committed to the health and safety of their employees, contractors, stakeholders and the community.  Chief Operating Officer, Roger Downham explains, “Hammerstone is very pleased to participate in the Northern Lights Health Foundation’s Gratitude Campaign, alongside our partner Fort MacKay First Nation.  As a member of the Wood Buffalo community, we understand the importance of timely access to world class health care facilities.”  Hammerstone Corporation supports many local initiatives and takes pride in the rich history of the communities in which they operate.  We all need health care at various points in our lives and this transformational initiative of the Northern Lights Health Foundation will play a key role in ensuring the ongoing vitality of the Wood Buffalo community.”

The Health Foundation is very grateful for Hammerstone’s continued support of these important projects These contributions are essential to our success and will ensure residents of Wood Buffalo will have access to world class health care where they need it the most, right here at home.
