Big smiles as Tim Hortons raises over $14,400
for Health Foundation
Fort McMurray, Alberta – Thanks to Tim Hortons locations in Fort McMurray, the Northern Lights Health Foundation has received a generous gift of over $14,400 in support of health care in Wood Buffalo. This past September, the Tim Hortons team raised these funds over the course of one week through their annual Smile Cookie campaign.
“The Health Foundation thanks Tim Hortons for their continued support through the Smile Cookie campaign,” says Susanne Chaffey, Executive Director of the Health Foundation. “Their support of the Health Foundation’s unrestricted fund provides our organization the means to respond to Wood Buffalo’s most critical health care needs, having a positive impact on the many people receiving care in our community.”
Since 2007, Tim Hortons has been a partner of the Health Foundation, donating over $34,400 in support of community health care. Each September, Tim Hortons locations across Canada and the United States sell Smile Cookies, with 100 per cent of proceeds donated to local charities including hospitals, food banks and children’s programs. In 2014, Tim Hortons raised approximately $5.3 million through their Smile Cookie program, with 100 per cent of proceeds donated to 500 charities across Canada and the United States.
