Tim Hortons’ Smile Cookie Campaign raises over $24,000 for Health Foundation

Fort McMurray, Alberta – Tim Hortons’ has once again demonstrated its commitment to health care in Wood Buffalo through donating over $24,000 to the Northern Lights Health Foundation, raised through its 2016 Smile Cookie Campaign. With community support, local stores sold over 8,000 more cookies this year!

“The Health Foundation thanks Tim Hortons’ for their continued support through the Smile Cookie Campaign,” said Cindy Amerongen, Executive Director of the Health Foundation. “Their support of the Health Foundation’s unrestricted fund provides our organization the means to respond to Wood Buffalo’s most critical health care needs, positively impacting patients and their loved ones. We also extend our thanks to every member of the community bought a Smile Cookie and supported Tim Hortons’ in this fun and unique initiative!”

“The generosity of the people of Fort McMurray has always been something that amazes us. Even after everything we have got through this year, this was our most successful Smile Cookie campaign we have ever had in Fort McMurray. We could barely keep up this year,” said Chris Bigelow, District Manager, Tollcorp Enterprises. “We are glad to be able to do this every year and we are more than willing to put in the work, as all of it goes back into our community and our hospital .”

Since 2007, Tim Hortons has been a partner of the Health Foundation and has contributed over $55,500 in donations and sponsorship in support of health care in Wood Buffalo. Each September, Tim Hortons’ locations sell Smile Cookies with 100 per cent of proceeds donated to local charities across Canada including hospitals, food banks and children’s programs.
