Athabasca Oil Corporation Invests in Health of the Wood Buffalo region

Leadership from Athabasca Oil Corporation (“Athabasca”) met with the Northern Lights Health Foundation to express gratitude for the exemplary emergency and community health services their employees have received. With two projects just outside of Fort McMurray, Leismer and Hangingstone, Athabasca understands the importance of having readily available health care services.

“The health and safety of our employees and the communities in which we live and work are at the very heart of our organization,” said Jeff Czepil, Athabasca’s Superintendent at Hangingstone. “We approached the Northern Lights Health Foundation to make a gift in support of the invaluable healthcare initiatives they represent in the region. AHS Health services have been right there when our employees have needed assistance and we wanted to recognize and thank them.”

“We are pleased to welcome Athabasca Oil to our family of charitable donors,” said Cindy Amerongen, Executive Director Northern Lights Health Foundation. “Their unrestricted donation of $10,000 will be allocated by the Board of Directors to priority health care projects. Every day we are helping AHS grow services and provide new equipment and technology to meet the health needs in our region. Athabasca Oil respects this work and are helping us meet our goals.”
