Dene Koe donates $100,000 to the Northern Lights Health Foundation’s Gratitude Campaign

Fort McMurray, Alberta – Dene Koe Workforce Lodging & Services, a partnership between Noralta Lodge and Fort McKay First Nation, has pledged $100,000 to the Northern Lights Health Foundation’s Gratitude Campaign. This significant donation is Dene Koe’s first gift to the Health Foundation and will be used to support the campaign’s area of greatest need.

The 8 projects that make up the Gratitude Campaign are intended to enhance health care delivery and improve patient outcomes for residents of Wood Buffalo. From updating the Continuing Care unit to redesigning the Multi-Purpose Clinic to modernizing surgical suites with minimally invasive technology, these projects will help to ensure the region has access to the health care they need, right here at home.

As a new donor to the Health Foundation, Dene Koe understands the importance of supporting health care initiatives for not only their staff and clients but all area residents and with their help, we can make these projects a reality. Cindy Amerongen, Executive Director for the Northern Lights Health Foundation says, “We are extremely grateful for Dene Koe joining us in this campaign so we can continue to improve the long term health and wellbeing of people in the region and that innovative and accessible health care remains a top priority. This gift is a terrific start to the New Year and brings us ever closer to completing the Campaign and bringing these projects to completion.”

Noralta Lodge President and CEO and Dene Koe board member, Corey Smith, agrees that advancing health care initiatives is important for the region’s long term sustainability “Supporting the community in which we operate is a cornerstone of Dene Koe, a venture between Noralta Lodge and Fort McKay First Nation and we’re proud to contribute to the Gratitude Campaign, in support of enhanced health care delivery to those who call the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, and surrounding area, home”.

The Health Foundation is extremely pleased to have partners like Dene Koe who are dedicated to investing in health care for our future generations and who invest in our vision of “Strong, healthy communities. Together.”
