Festival of Trees Fort Chipewyan
A.P.E. Maintenance Ltd. to Host Most Northern Festival of Trees!
A special announcement was made this morning at the Northern Lights Health Centre. Melanie Antoine, owner, A.P.E. Maintenance, declared that her company would create and present a community Festival of Trees event in the northern community of Fort Chipewyan with the proceeds donated to the Northern Lights Health Foundation.
‘I love everything about Festival of Trees,” said Melanie Antoine, “The joy of creating Christmas crafts, sharing time with friends and neighbors, seeing and bidding on the beautifully decorated trees, visiting with Santa, and so much more. Every year the Hospital Foundation creates a whole winter wonderland world for the Fort McMurray community and we wanted to bring that magic to our home community of Fort Chipewyan.”
“We are very excited by this new opportunity to work more closely with A.P.E. Maintenance and to help bring more activities to Fort Chipewyan. November is a hard month in the north when the weather turns colder and the winter road isn’t open. It’s difficult for community members to enjoy the great events going on in the region. We are happy to help bring some of our signature event, Festival of Trees, to the community. I really think this will be a wonderful seasonal experience for everyone,” said Cindy Amerongen, Executive Director, Northern Lights Health Foundation.
Fort Chipewyan Festival of Trees will be co-hosted by Melanie and Lloyd Antoine, co-owners of A.P.E. maintenance. Events will take place at the Mamawi Hall and will be entirely family-friendly and low-cost to community members. With the ever popular Christmas tree auction serving as the backdrop for the event, there will be eight other activities taking place. Kids will enjoy the Gingerbread House Contest, Pictures with Santa, Decorate-a-Cookie and Candy Cane Canteen. There is also a Wreath Decorating Contest, a huge Toy Raffle, and Gift Shop Corner and of course, a hallmark of Festival of Trees, the Teddy Bear Hospital.
Sponsors are welcome to support any of the activities noted above. To kick off the sponsorship, A.P. E. also announced a $10,000 donation to the Health Foundation.
“Over the past few years, A.P.E. Maintenance has stepped up donations to the Health Foundation time and time again,” noted Cindy Amerongen, “The donation of $10,000 is unrestricted to the Foundation allowing the Board of Directors to allocate to priority healthcare projects. The Fort Chipewyan Festival of Trees is another wonderful example of Melanie and Lloyd’s determination to support their home community and keep healthcare as a key component of the community’s success.
Help us make Christmas special in our northern community! Sponsor and attend this great event. Sponsorship package: https://joom.ag/yTZe
