Lobby Visioning Sessions Completed
Throughout June and July AHS staff, patients and community members participated in Lobby Visioning workshops at the Northern Lights Health Centre in which they were asked their thoughts and perceptions about the functionality, structure, aesthetics and dreamscape of the Suncor Heart of Health Lobby.
A total of 616 data points were collected through group and individual sessions. The lobby was confirmed as a space for meeting with people (family, friends, and co-workers), a place of quiet reflection and reading, and a place for information and direction. We understand that the lobby has a special place as a marketplace for local vendors, as a gathering space for after-hours activities, and a place for children to see parents outside of a hospital room.
We are very excited to turn over all of the responses (collected anonymously and collated into a final report) to AHS management to help inform the design and project management team.
Thank you to everyone who participated in a visioning workshop or who talked one-on-one with the facilitator. We are looking forward to seeing how a designer can interpret your thoughts and make the Suncor Heart of Health Lobby a beautiful and function space.
We also want to offer our thanks to the Lobby Visioning project funder, Alberta Health Services Foundation Relations, for a High Potential Grant. And, we offer a very special thank you to Suncor and the Suncor Energy Foundation for their tremendous donation to the Gratitude Campaign that will make the lobby renovation possible.
