Tuccaro Group Donates $250,000 to the Gratitude Campaign’s Minimally Invasive Surgical Suites
Fort McMurray, Alberta – The Northern Lights Health Foundation is excited to announce that Tuccaro Group has joined the Gratitude Campaign with a donation of $250,000. On Friday November 9th, the Health Foundation and Tuccaro Group celebrated this significant gift with a cheque presentation at the Tuccaro Group office. This donation will be reserved for the Minimally Invasive Surgical (MIS) Suites project, which is the largest piece of the Gratitude Campaign.
The $7.6 million dollar MIS project will upgrade four of the current operating rooms in to state-of-the-art operating theatres that will help to attract highly skilled surgeons to the region and create an optimal operating environment for staff and patients. This technology will allow surgeons to be more precise and efficient in the surgical suite; these efficiencies could result in an additional 500 surgeries being performed every year, right here at home. In the past, large incisions were needed for many surgeries so surgeons could see – and reach – the areas being treated. Today, nearly every part of the body is reachable with minimally invasive surgery.
Tuccaro Group, Founder, President and CEO, Dave Tuccaro talks about why they have chosen to support the Gratitude Campaign:
I was a Director on the very first Northern Lights Health Foundation Board and today remain an Honorary Member. We have deep roots here in this region, and it doesn’t matter where you are from, if you are here you are going to need to use our hospital at some time. I know my employees and their families use the healthcare system here and don’t want to have to go elsewhere to receive the care they need. We also know that there is a direct link between great heath care and the future of our region and that is why as a business, we are proud to play our role in leading the region to a bright and prosperous future.
The Northern Lights Health Foundation Executive Director Cindy Amerongen acknowledges the significance of the donation. “The Gratitude Campaign has touched a chord in everyone whether they are new to the community or have deep roots in the region. We all aspire to create the health care programs and services we want right here in Wood Buffalo. Leaders like Dave Tuccaro and the Tuccaro Group are bringing us closer to the completion of the campaign, and that means we are closer to making the Gratitude projects a reality.”
“On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of the Northern Lights Health Foundation, I would like to offer sincere thanks to Dave for advancing the campaign with this wonderful gift.”
