Imperial and Fort McKay First Nation join Gratitude Campaign

Thursday February 23rd was a special day for the Northern Lights Health Foundation as two large donations to the Gratitude Campaign were announced. Imperial directed $250,000 to the Palliative Care Suites Project and the Fort McKay First Nation and a consortium of partner companies announced a pledge of $550,000 to the campaign at their 30th anniversary celebration.

Honouring Margaret MacDonald

The Medicine Wheel Room at the Northern Lights Health Centre was renamed in honor of Fort McKay First Nation elder Margaret MacDonald.

Ewashko family honoured with philanthropy award

The Northern Lights Health Foundation proudly recognized Beverly, Howie, Kim and Craig Ewashko with a National Philanthropy Day Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals in Edmonton.

Health Care Heroes Series: Graystone Dental Centre

Graystone Dental Centre is a proud supporter of the Northern Lights Health Foundation. Their support has included philanthropic gifts and as in-kind supporters of Festival of Trees, through donating toys to the Santa’s Workshop. To further their impact on local health care, the Graystone Dental team will be donating a portion of proceeds from every dental x-ray take throughout September and October 2015.

Health Care Heroes Series: Dave and Nicole Bouchier

Proud Wood Buffalo residents, Dave Bouchier and Nicole Bourque-Bouchier take great pride in giving back to the community that has supported them, and their involvement has made a real and impactful difference in the Wood Buffalo region.

Health Care Heroes Series: Dr. Surinder Khinda

Dr. Surinder Khinda, is the Facility Medical Director for Alberta Health Services at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre. Taking his director position approximately five years ago, he oversees medical affairs, physician related recruitment, operations and patient safety.

Youth Mental Health Navigation

The AHS Addictions & Mental Health team, along with other national and provincial health and wellness organizations, offers a great deal of support to children and youth in our region. The health care system can be an overwhelming experience for children, youth and their families, especially when they are in a crisis situation. It can be difficult for families to obtain help for their children when they are not aware of what resources are available to them.

Celebrating a Child

Dawn Booth is a familiar face around Fort McMurray as the Editor-in-Chief of the local news publication, snapd Wood Buffalo. Dawn and husband Ryan Booth have purchased not one, but two memorials for both of their children since the wall was erected.
