
[Fort McMurray, Alberta, September 23, 2024] – The Northern Lights Health Foundation is thrilled to celebrate the spectacular success of the 7th Annual Hospital Bed Races, a heartwarming community tradition that once again brought together the people of Fort McMurray in support of local healthcare. Hosted on Saturday, September 21, the event, presented by Birch Mountain Enterprises LP (BME), soared to new heights, delivering an unforgettable day of spirited competition, camaraderie, and charitable giving.
The year, 16 teams took the challenge head-on, racing not only for the championship but also to raise critical funds for healthcare services in our region. Thanks to their incredible efforts, over $65,000 was raised, surpassing las year’s achievements and continuing to make a profound impact on healthcare in Fort McMurray.
In the most thrilling finale yet, the competition came down to a nail-biting race between SMS Equipment Inc. Heavy Haulers and the Family Christian Centre Young Adults, with SMS Heavy Haulers clinching the title of 2024 champions and securing the coveted Golden Bed Pan Trophy. Their victory capped off a day filled with excitement, fun, and the unbeatable spirit of giving back to our community.
