Smile Cookie Weeks Brings Big Donation to Healthcare

Community All Smiles as Smile Cookie Week Brings Big Donation to Healthcare!

Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Week campaign ran at Tim Hortons restaurants across the country from May 1st – 7th. Marking the first time the event has been held in spring, the national campaign raised a new record of $19.7M, supporting over 600 charities and community groups across Canada and in the United States.

Local Tim Hortons restaurants in Thickwood, Eagle Ridge, Hardin Street, and Quarry Ridge hosted Smile Cookie Week in support of the Northern Lights Health Foundation. With 100% of each cookie sold, these locations also had a record-breaking year, raising $45,715 in Smile Cookie sales!

“We love Smile Cookie Week,” said Cindy Amerongen, Executive Director Northern Lights Health Foundation, “Working directly with the teams at the Tim Hortons locations, interacting with the community, and being part of a national campaign, and funding healthcare initiatives makes for an exciting week.”

“We also love the community’s response to Smile Cookies as they buy dozens to share with family, friends, co-workers,” continued Amerongen. “We feel that Smile Cookies bring us all together as a community – laughing over winky and wonky eyes and slightly crooked smiles, and knowing we are all supporting a great cause.”

Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone in the local Tim Hortons family lead by Katrina, Zaira, Jon, Rose, Maricel, Virgie, Sheryl, Sujami, and EJ, and to all the volunteers who added bright blue eyes and sweet pink smiles to over 30,000 cookies. And again, we couldn’t have such wonderful fundraising results without the support of the community. Thank you so much!

The Smile Cookie funds will be directed to the Health Foundation’s Area of Greatest Need Fund which is currently supporting over $1,500,000 in healthcare projects in our region including the Better Together Indigenous Health project.
