Access to life-saving breast cancer screening is expanding in the Wood Buffalo region starting June 2025, thanks to the ongoing partnership between the Northern Lights Health Foundation and the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
Together, they are bringing a new state-of-the-art mobile mammography unit to the community, improving early detection services for women in rural and Indigenous areas. This initiative is part of a broader effort across Alberta to make breast cancer screening more accessible, comfortable, and effective—especially for those who face challenges accessing traditional healthcare facilities.
