Sunbelt Ledcor Tournament Contributes $105,500 to Health Foundation

On July 13, 2023, over 160 golfers gathered to compete in the 3rd Annual Sunbelt Ledcor Charity Cup. This golf tournament was created by Sunbelt Rentals and Ledcor to raise funds for a local charity and to support a child in need of medical care. The 2023 Sunbelt Ledcor Charity Cup raised an astounding $211,000! In its first 3 years, the Charity Cup has raised over $500,510 for local community agencies and families in need.

The Health Foundation staff had a terrific golf day with the organizers, sponsors, golfers, and volunteers as we sold tickets for the 50/50 raffle, the Yeti prize draw, and for the amazing custom golf cart. Additionally, we had the opportunity to visit with the golfers and engage them in a friendly game of Operation. Today, the Northern Lights Health Foundation was honoured to accept a cheque in the amount of $105,500 as the recipient of this year’s charitable portion of the proceeds.

“We are delighted by the results of the golf tournament,” said Cindy Amerongen, Northern Lights Health Foundation Executive Director. “We are very proud to work with both Sunbelt Rentals and Ledcor to support this tournament and share our healthcare messages and initiatives with their sponsors, guests, and golfers. And, knowing that we are also helping to support the Fulcher family with medical services and equipment as they advance the care of their son, Kane, makes the whole event joyful and truly captures the spirit of giving for everyone in attendance.”

Tournament organizers Hailey Blank (Sunbelt Rentals) and Colin Gulevich (Ledcor) put in countless hours to coordinate this premier tournament. And, they do it all in support of their community.

“This incredible event is where community and industry come together to make a difference. The amazing support and involvement has turned this gathering into a worldwide affair, attracting attendees from across Canada and the US,” said Hailey Blank. “We are proud to give back to our community and provide families with the vital financial relief they need during tough times. And as Winston Churchill wisely said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give,” added Colin Gulevich.

“We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated employees and volunteers from Sunbelt Rentals and Ledcor for their exceptional efforts in organizing the golf tournament. Their meticulous attention to detail created a truly enjoyable and captivating atmosphere for fundraising,” expressed Amerongen. “Each individual contributed with utmost dedication, making this tournament a remarkable event that guests will eagerly anticipate year after year. We are enthusiastically looking forward to our future involvement, and in the meantime, the funds raised this year will be put to excellent use in supporting our local healthcare services, which are vital to us all.”
